Stearic acid is a saturated long-chain fatty acid widely used across personal care, cosmetics, candle making, and industrial manufacturing. It acts as an emulsifier, thickening agent, and hardener in a broad range of formulations.

In personal care, stearic acid is a cornerstone ingredient for creams, lotions, body butters, and soaps. It helps stabilize oil-in-water emulsions, giving products a smooth, luxurious texture while improving shelf stability. It is also commonly used in shaving creams and conditioners.

Beyond cosmetics, stearic acid finds application in candle production (improving opacity and burn quality), rubber manufacturing (as a processing aid and vulcanization activator), and plastics (as a lubricant and mould release agent). Its versatility makes it one of the most frequently ordered raw materials on the Chemcenta platform.
